IOCTA HOSTED 2008
NATIONAL OCTA CONVENTION

The Idaho chapter of OCTA hosted the national OCTA convention
August 5-9, 2008 at the Nampa Civic Center.  The convention was a
great success.

427 participants registered for the convention with additional
guests at some dinners.  Activities started in July with the wagon
train trek across Idaho.  They continued with monument
dedications at Canyon Creek and Boise and a number of pre-tours.
Presentations, workshops, lunches and dinners, and a number of
tours of the fine trail sites in southwestern Idaho and eastern
Oregon were enjoyed by many.  One highlight was the annual Three
Island Crossing reenactment which was attended by three buses of
participants.

For more information on the convention, see the writeups by Jim
McGill in the
August Trail Dust  and the September Trail Dust
available on this website.
